with the coming of technology modernization and the popularity of electronic devices, electronic reading has become the main approach for people to browse english news. english news online reading can raise readers' motivation to learn english, understand culture and social situation of english-speaking countries and improve intercultural communicative competence. the purpose of this study is to further explore the influence of english news online reading on the cultivation of college students' english skills and cross-cultural competence.

basic content

the paper consists of five parts, including introduction, literature review, research design, discussion and conclusion. in the introduction, the author shows the main significance and purpose of this research. literature review will illustrate domestic and international related researches and accomplishments. in the research design, the author concretely emphases the research methods, generally qualitative and quantitative research. discussion part illustrates the founding from the research practice. at last, the author will give a brief and further conclusion.
