机动车车牌自动分割研究

摘 要

现代社会中发达的交通是支撑起整个社会有效运转的基石,但是因为国内汽车拥有量的急剧上升,各种车辆违章混乱行为也层出不穷,所以公路交通管理成为了重中之重,发展现代化的车辆管理系统,力求使其信息化、智能化、科学化、规范化,成为了当前交通管理发展的宗旨。

现代化的交通管理系统的核心就是机动车车牌的自动识别和分割技术。和传统的车辆管理系统相比,机动车车牌的自动识别和分割技术能够让交通管理的效率和水平有显著的提升,节约大量的人力和物力,有效的削减了车辆管理成本,保证了车辆管理的有效性和科学性,对现代交通发展起了不可忽视的作用,具有十分广泛的应用前景和发展潜力。

论文采用图像处理方法,对车牌定位与字符分割两个方面进行了研究,具体研究内容包含:

1.车牌图像的定位,通过统计蓝色像素点对蓝色车牌进行定位。

2.车牌图像的预处理,对于分割出来的车牌进行灰度化处理,然后用Radon变换法进行几何校正,最后是通过Y轴缩减车牌区域去除车牌图像的上下边框以及铆钉。

3.车牌图像的字符分割,

Abstract

In modern society, developed traffic support is the foundation of social work, but because of a sharp rise in the ownership of domestic cars, Various vehicle violation chaotic behavior is endless,, So the highway traffic management becomes the most important.Developing modern vehicle management system, and strive to make its information, intelligent, scientific, standardized, become the purpose of the current development of traffic management.

The core of the modern traffic management system is the automatic vehicle license plate recognition and segmentation technology.. Compared with the traditional vehicle management system, the automatic vehicle license plate recognition and segmentation technology  which can make the efficiency and level of traffic management has been improved significantly. Also,the automatic vehicle license plate recognition and segmentation technology can save a lot of manpower and material resources and effectively cut down the cost of vehicle management.In modern social,what ensure the validity of the vehicle management and science will play a role can not be ignored on the development of modern traffic, with the application of progress and development potential is very wide.

The license plate location and segmentation method based on image processing are the key issues in this paper, so that the main works are as follows:

  1. License plate location method based on statistics of the blue pixels, and only the blue license plates are considered
  2. License plate image pre-processing methods including gray processing and geometric correction based on Radon transformation. The rivets and edges of license plate are removed by processing in Y axis.
  3. License plate image segmentation method.
