Abstract

This paper mainly studies the design of the compact SUV’s braking system, including the comparison and selection of the braking system, the design calculation and the structural design of the braking system.

At present, the safety of the car on the braking system put forward higher and higher requirements, especially in recent years, to the good sales of sport utility vehicles (SUV models), how to design a braking system that meets the safety requirements and the national standard requirements according to a set of standardized design process is particularly important. Based on the development of the braking system at home and abroad, as well as the actual situation of the usage, this paper expounds the background, theoretical value and practical significance of the thesis.

In theory, the paper expatiates on the selection and scheme’s process of the brakes according to the vehicle model. The main parameters of the braking system are selected and the basis is explained. The design and calculation of the brakes, as well as the strength’s calculation of the main components of the brake are carried out by the methods of force analysis and the model’s establishment. At last, this paper conducts the structure design. ABS (antilock brake system) and EPB (electronic parking system), which are equipped with the vehicle, are introduced and the simple selection work is carried out.

Finally, summarize and draw the design results.
