1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)
1.1 research purpose:
suspension is one of the important assemblies on modern cars thatelastically connect the frame (or body) to the axle (or wheel). while its maintask is to transmit all the forces and moments acting between the wheel and theframe (or the body), it has multiple other purposes to serve such as; tomitigate the impact load transmitted by the road to the frame (or the body), toattenuate the vibration of the chassis caused by the car, and to ensure thecar's smooth ride; to ensure that the wheel has ideal motion characteristicswhen the road is uneven and the load changes and to ensure the steeringstability of the car, so that the car can obtain high-speed driving ability[1].
in this research, a rear torsion beam suspension will be designed for dongfeng peugeot 308 sedan using the given design parameters with the focus on;

2.1, research content
1. design and analysis of the torsion beam suspension of peugeot 308(determination of main parameters of torsion beam suspension).
the design of the coil spring: the choice of spring material; the force anddeformation of the spring; the calculation of the geometric parameters of thespring; the interpretation and further processing of analysis results.
design and selection of damper: selection of damper type; selection of mainperformance parameters; determination of main dimensions; processing ofcalculation results.
2. draw the assembly map and the main part drawing (suspension assemblydiagram, coil spring diagram, damper diagram, etc.).

2.2, research goal
compared with other non-independent suspensions, the torsion beam typenon-independent suspension has simple structure, light weight, low manufacturing cost and easy maintenance.it does not need rear wheel positioning when assembling the whole vehicle, reduces assemblyman-hours, takes up little space, and makes it is easy to obtain largertail space. but due to the simple structure, the degree of freedom of design issmall, and the stability of the control is poor.
in view of the advantages and disadvantages of the torsion beam rearsuspension, the goal of this research is to design the torsion beam rearsuspension for the peugeot 308, and to optimize its performance parameters onthis basis while ensuring that the advantages of such suspensions’ basicperformance of for the vehicle are minimally affected by the shortcomingsof the torsion beam suspension, hence providing a car with a good handlingstability

week 13 students file an application for defense and prepare for defense;teachers review drawings and instructions
weeks 14 and 15 participate in the defense
