Abstract
The graduation project is the design of library in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
The project is proposed as class B building with total construction area about 9783.9 meters square and 1956.78 meters square for single story. The total height of the building is 22.60 meters. The main design scheme is multi-layer reinforced concrete frame structures with design life of 50 years.
The outdoor ground height is 0.45meters, and for the bottom height is 5.5 meters from the foundation and 3.9 meters for second to fifth floor. The parapet height on the roof is 1.20 meters with the roof access. Concrete hollow blocks are used for the walls, plastering with cement mortar on both internal and external faces, in the front use glass walls with vertical and horizontal mullions. The glass doors are used in the first floor for the main entrance and wooden doors for the rest. The windows are plastic-steel windows.
Structural design is in the preliminary design of buildings set on the basis structures of the program, the choice of reasonable structural systems, layouts to determine structural component size, calculation which is included load calculation, soil checking, cross sectional design, rebars calculation, staircases calculations and others related structures construction plan.
The design should comply with the contemporary standards in China where the code included the code for concrete structures, seismic design and design of foundations.
