论严歌苓小说中的女性形象

摘 要

作为当前北美文坛最具影响力的华文作家,严歌苓高产量高质量地创造出大量具有宏大历史背景特点的小说,并通过改编电影的形式令人印象深刻。作品中无一例外地存在拥有着惊人的相似又有着微妙差别的女性形象,她们常常行走在历史、社会的边缘,遭遇话语权的缺失和身份的尴尬,但始终以包容、牺牲和爱的“地母”情怀来应对,最终形成女性隐秘的成长史。这些形象的出现不仅是作家以人生体验与个人经历为基础的小说虚构以及限制性叙事的应用,更包含了在特定社会、时代背景中女性视域下的历史叙事和作家以男性意识审视女性的独特视角。本文将从严歌苓小说中的女性形象入手,对女性群像进行分类,分析作家创作的艺术特点,总结严歌苓小说创作中女性形象的特殊意义。

Abstract: As the current north American literary world of the most influential Chinese writer, Yangeling create a large number of novels of grand historical background characteristics. In these works, there are a striking resemblance and a subtle difference image of women, they often suffered from the lack of voice and the identity of the embarrassment, but always to be inclusive of sacrifice against the era of social and human feelings, finally forms the female secret lots. The appearance of the image is not only on the basis of the life experience and personal experience, but also contains the specific social background of historical narrative and writers from the female to male consciousness look at women"s unique angle of view. This paper will classify portraits of women from the perspective of the female images, analyzes the artistic characteristics of creation and summarizes the special significance of the female image in Yangeling’s novel creation.

一 引言

严歌苓是当前北美文坛最具影响力的华文作家,而大多数人对严歌苓的记忆停留在电影放映时屏幕上出现的“编剧:严歌苓”。近年来,严歌苓创作的多部小说由其本人担任编剧走上大荧幕,在电影界和文学界都掀起了一阵“严歌苓热”的潮流。无论是小说或剧本,在严歌苓的创作中,我们看到愈加丰满的女性人物形象、愈加雕琢锤炼的艺术手法,随着作家人生经历的波澜,对人生百态、军旅生涯、异域生活等的体悟,其创作也更加成熟,更能反映时代和历史的变迁,折射出社会与个人在大环境巨变下的千姿百态。
