This paper evaluates two sets of college English textbooks using the evaluation of McDonough and Shaw (2003) based on external and internal evaluation. These two sets of textbooks are: New College English Integrated Courseby Li Yinhua and Wang Deming (second edition) and New Horizon College Englishby Zheng Shutang (third edition). Both two applies for Four-year college courses.
This study focuses on non-English major college students’ textbooks and evaluates whether both of these two sets are perceived appropriate for college students. And for a textbook, it fits what students’ needs. This paper also contains comparison of these two sets on their covers, materials and exercises.

- Search various resources to identify the topic for the paper.
- Collect data and materials for the paper and write the paper on schedule.
- The paper should give an elaborate and exhaustive research on the given topic with independent work.
- The paper should be no less than 4500 English words in accordance with the required format.

- before 1st january : settlement of the title
- before 1st march: submission of the outline
- before 15th april : submission of the first draft
- before 14th may: revision of the draft
- before 29th may: submission of the final version
