at the very beginning, i will read the english and chinese version of this collection carefully and clearly. and pay more attention to the description of details, so that i can analyse protagonists#8217; character accurately. i did some research about her works and her life experiences, also went through many journals, theses and comments written by scholars at home and abroad.

chapter one is the introduction to the thesis，including alice munro#8217;s life and works, a brief introduction to the love of a good woman and research purpose and significance． chapter two is about the literature review, including research in foreign counties and in china . chapter three interprets protagonists#8217; characters in the three short stories--- the love of a good woman, the children stay and my mother#8217;s dream. chapter four examines munro#8217;s moral choice about love or righteousness, freedom or family and art or child. chapter five concludes this study, and points out its findings and the enlightenment to readers.
