A number of theses have discussed the movie, mainly on the development of the main character---- Forrest Gump that is acted by the Tom Hanks. The paper 慉 Study on the Beauty of Human Nature in Forrest Gump?written by Li Liaomei and Zhou Hongru , They both discuss the human nature in the American film through the analysis of Forrest Gump and his family and friends. In the paper 慜rdinary Intelligence, Extraordinary Life----the movie Forrest Gump? Fang Min pointed out that commendable virtues and merits play a very important role in the growth of men. The paper written by Ma Hui focuses on the points concerning ethics and human idea. Moreover, In light of the paper of Xiong Wei interpreted as American Culture in the Movie Forrest Gump discussed the culture of American society according to the changes of main characters?life experiences. Some studies also presented an impressive analysis on the character images such as those of Peng Chunju ,Liu Yangui and Judy Xie. The background information, the writing structure and writing techniques used in the movie have been included in their research area. However, though some has discussed the growth view in the novel, not enough and detailed paper have been provided through my searching on the Internet. As I have mentioned above, the character image is a key clue in the movie, which pushes the plot to the climax and help the expression of theme. Therefore, it is of great value to study the beauty and glamour of human nature in the movie. In my thesis, the chapter on glamour of human nature would be divided into four parts, namely, mother love from Mama Forrest, Kindness and Romance from Jenny Curran, Friendship from Lieutenant Dan and Bubba and finally , glamour of Gump抯 human nature from his life experiences. Furthermore, reasons for its Oscar Best Picture will also be discussed.
