As is known to us all, there exist too many differences in culture between China and western countries. Domestication and Foreignization was put forward by Lawrence Venuti, a famous American translation theorist, in 1995 in The Translator#8217;s Invisibility. These two theories can also be regarded as extensions of literal translation and free translation. He points that the translators should make the translation as fluent as the writers. Domestication has its own limitations.
