1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述包含参考文献)
In 1987, Jef Verschueren put forward a "conformity" theory in Pragmatics as a Theory of Linguistic Adaptation to examine language use in a new perspective and approach. The book, Understanding Pragmatics, was published in 1999 to further develop and refine the theory. Verschueren believes that language use is a kind of behavior. Unlike "act," "behavior" is more sociological, so in his view language use is another kind of social action. Therefore, the study of language use must be "from the cognitive, social and cultural point of view of linguistic phenomena and behavior as a linguistic use of link", that is, pragmatics is not and phonetics, syntax, semantics and other parallel disciplines , But a functional theory, namely "for any one aspect of the language Functional Overview. " Language use is the language of the process of functioning, or that in accordance with the needs of communicative context language users continue to choose the language means to achieve the process of communication intentions. So, adaptation is reflected in the mutual adaptation between the environment of language and the choice of language structure. The present study will take pragmatic adaptation proposed by Jef Verschueren (Versehueren J.Pragmaticsasa Theory of Linguistic Adaptation〔M〕.London Arnold 1987) as its theoretical foundation to approach Internet Buzzwords from the Perspective of Adaptation Theory - A Case Study of gelivable and great my country.According to the theory of pragmatic adaptation, in the process of communication, whether consciously or not, its translation will certainly make different effects. The pragmatic adaptation theory studying all levels of language provides a new perspective and framework to analyze the language of gelivable and great my country on the basis of social, cultural contexts. The study is directed on a relationship between buzzwords and adaptation theory. Therefore, this study can be divided into two parts. First of all, collect the use of gelivable and great my country in different backgrounds. Then, analyze these from the perspective of adaptation theory and its development. 2.1.2 Definition of buzzword According to the Webster#8217;s Dictionary, buzzword is an important-sounding usually technical word or phrase often of little meaning used chiefly to impress layman. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, buzzword is informal and it is a technical word or phrase that become fashionable, typically as a slogan. According to the Longman Dictionary of the Contemporary English, buzzword is a word or phrase from one special area of knowledge that people suddenly think is very important. With the development of the theory, Scholars have introduced, reviewed and applied adaptation theory articles and monographs have been published. The pioneer who introduced the adaptation theory is Qian Guanlian. In 1990, he published "On the Use of Metonymy of Versailles" in the fourth issue of "Foreign Language". Verschueren's meta-linguistic choice described in this article is actually the later metaphysical awareness in his book (Metapragmatic awareness) theory prototype. Besides, Professor Qian(2000) published another essay about "Adaptation Theory" in the third issue of "Foreign Language Teaching and Research". This paper discusses the theoretical origin and overall theoretical framework of J. Verschueren's theory of adaptation, and summarizes the overall content of the book: it can be described as a basic question (people in the use of language are What are you doing?), three key concepts (variability, negotiability and adaptability ), and four research perspectives (context, structure, dynamics, consciousness). Studies on adaptation theory, domestic scholars apply the theory of adaptation in the main area of translation. The author made an incomplete statistics on October 26, 2006, and entered the title in Chinese Journal Full-text Database of China Knitting Network (http: www.cnki.net index.htm) a total of 24 results were found in the item "Adaptation Theory", of which 13 were related to translation, accounting for 54.2% of the total; and 49 were entered in the input keyword search item adaptation theory, of which 20 were related to translation, accounting for 40.8%. At Google (http: www.google.com intl zh-CN), enter 841 results, in these 841 results, enter the "translation" and then search, get 578 results, accounting for 68.7%. Li Yuansheng (2006) also explored "Chinese as a Pragmatic Polite verbal behavior of tactics ", pointing out that the study of impolite speech should not be limited to the moral level. Adaptation Theory provides a new perspective for pragmatic research on impolite speech. So this study depends on previous research mainly analyzing the buzzwords from the perspective of adaptation theory. 2.2.2 Studies of buzzwords There is a little study of buzzwords from the perspective of adaptation theory. When it comes to the word gelivable, it has two main kind of study, one is the relationship between gelivable and its translation, especially its zero translation; the other is gelivable use in the media. Han lu(2010) has talked about gelivable use in the media, who paid attention to the use of buzzwords in media. She collected all kinds of the use of gelivable in the online media and traditional media as corpus, and analyzing it from perspective of adaptation theory, which mainly from three aspects: adaptation of language reality and media features, social protocol and psychological motivation. It is concluded that in the process of media dissemination of information, communicators have certain communicative purposes for information dissemination, vocabulary and communication strategies are chosen to achieve communicative intentions, which is called adaptation. However the buzzword great my country occurs in our daily life and influences our communication , which is a good example to analyze why it develops so fast and whether it follows the adaptation theory. So I will pay attention to a further analysis of the gelivable and great my country, analyzing the buzzwords its variability, adaptability in different contexts, social environment, and structure, using comparative analysis to find the similarity and get new findings.
