Chinese students are hard-working and they can do well in many fields. Chen says that the ideas and ways of Chinese education are the key points of nowadays situation. So what are the differences between Chinese and American education? What can we do to change the situation? The differences between Chinese and American education and the reasons for these differences. 1、 In Chinese education，parents and brothers are the representation of the authority, who can#8217;t be suspected. While in America, the children can argue with their parents if they have their own reasons, and the children#8217;s opinions will be adopted by parents. In the argument, what the parents consider is who is right or who is wrong instead of who should be respected. Reason: Dad is effected by Chinese traditional ethics and moral principles, he follows the hierarchy of family, so his daughters are not allowed to disobey him. Reason: Chinese parents all hope children can be strong enough, they seldom express their love for their children. Chinese people are shy, most people are shamed to express their love to their families and lovers. They love their kids but they never show their care and love. while American people are enthusiastic, they are good at expressing their emotions. And American parents always show that they will support their kids when they come up with difficulties. 4、 In china, parents hope that their children make few friends for the reason why is that they believe making friends is a wasting of time. While in America, children are encouraged to communicate with others and make more friends. Reason：Chinese parents think that their children should be focused on study or something important, making friends is a wastage of time. While the American parents focus on the mental health of their kids and they believe that friends are also an important part of their life and making friends can help them live better. In china, people emphasis the importance of family, so in their life, family is important than friends, while in America, people have a weak sense of family, except for their parents and children, friends are also important. 5、 In china, parents believe in that sons are the continuation of a family, so when the parents have limited money, they will support the son to get further education and persuade the daughter to give up study. While in America, the daughter will receive he same education with the son, and American girls often have higher education degree than the Chinese girls. Reason: dad has been influenced by the Confucianism, in Confucianism, people believe that the male is prior to the female. And only sons are the continuation of one family, and daughters will marry others and become one member of other family. So sons will be supported by the family when there is no enough resources. 6、 In china, children are required to obey their parents and brothers without any reason, while in America, children are the individuals, they are not asked to obey anyone. What a child can be is determined by what he received from his family. And the characters and fates of a child are closely connected with his family education.
