this paper discusses a study on the translation of folding beijing from the perspective of translator’s subjectivity. and it aims to give a clear understanding of translator’s subjectivity.
first, books relevant to the translation methods will be consulted to have a rough understanding about translator’s subjectivity. it will lay theoretical foundation for following analysis.
afterwards, i’d like to compare the translation versions of folding beijing with the original book and try to discuss the impacts of translator’s subjectivity on the translation from a macro view, categories and the original text. and then i’ll explore the translator’s subjectivity in the translation from a micro view. besides, i will make an evaluation on the translation. finally i’ll conclude the whole paper by underlying the value of this subject and bringing forward some personal suggestions for further endeavors. as one of the most well-known chinese science fiction , folding beijing is worthy of reading and analyzing. this paper will make a case study of it from beauty in sound, beauty in form and beauty in con according to the translation aesthetics theory.
