1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)
nowadays, the communication between china and american has become closer and closer, as one of the most representative cultural products of american, american tv series have been popularized widely and played a more and more important role in cultural transmission. however, some contents appeared in american tv series have impacted chinese people, especially college students on their views of value, science and marriage, which can also be considered as american cultural invasion. taking house of cards as example, a large number of college students show their appreciation to this tv series, they spend much time watching it and combining it with their own life.
house of cards is a political tv series produced by netflix, which is adapted by michael dobbs’s novel and popular with the audiences all over the world. many chinese scholars pay attention to the so-called cultural invasion, because college students are of great significance in the development of our country. they need to be guided in the right way to face with this cultural invasion. meanwhile, scholars abroad also show great interests in it, they want to figure out how to make other american tv series as popular as the house of cards
the paper aims at exploring the impact of american cultural invasion to chinese college students, taking house of cards as example, by analyzing the reasons why it is popular among college students, and giving some practical suggestions based on the collected information. the analysis will be conducted from the following three reasons. firstly, it is the modern science and technology that motivate college students to watch it. besides, it’s beneficial for students to cultivate the ability of cross-cultural communication. last but not least, the house of cards itself is a brilliant work, not only due to its multi-level theme, but also the complex and contradictory characters.
2. 研究的基本内容与方案
The paper mainly explores the impact of House of Cards to Chinese college students, which is considered as a form of American cultural invasion. It will adopt the methods combining empirical description with theory analysis. Firstly, it will use the sample survey, a statistical method, to inquire about the basic information of the college students, the motivations to them to watch House of Cards, their watching habits included. This survey will convey the fundamental, fresh, and valid information, which is very necessary for the rest parts of the paper. Secondly, the paper will use comprehensive analysis about the House of Cards , not only the TV series itself, but also its impact on college students, based on the collected information. In this part, comparative analysis is also needed when studying the difference between American and Chinese culture, because it is the difference that attracts college students, and mislead them to understand the House of Cards. Thirdly, the paper will focus on the solutions to this cultural invasion, not only the government and the universities, but also the college students themselves who ought to work together. The author aims at analyzing this phenomenon comprehensively and giving effective suggestions.
