摘 要

喜剧总是给人一种轻松舒服的感官体验，事实上这并非其唯一“功效”，不仅如此，它同时也能传达出不同的情感元素。人人都爱喜剧，这些年来，在国内不乏看见一大批美式喜剧充斥荧屏，且都受到中国观众的热烈欢迎，尤其以金凯瑞为代表的好莱坞喜剧，一直被奉为经典，为人津津乐道。然而，国产喜剧电影却似乎进入高票房低评分的怪圈，类似《泰囧》、《捉妖记》等电影都刷新了不少票房纪录，但打起分来，观众并不“买账”。时代在发展，喜剧内容越来越五花八门，在这背后，究竟什么样的喜剧才能打动人心，博观众一笑，不由得令人探索。文化的交融与互通，能够产生惊人的火花，幽默文化与娱乐精神也不例外，这里，本文将以金凯瑞喜剧电影为例去探讨所谓的美式幽默。

本文分为五个部分：第一部分，从喜剧文化的现状出发，介绍喜剧文化的分类，金凯瑞为喜剧文化所作之贡献。第二部分，从喜剧历史的发展出发，分析金凯瑞独特喜剧风格的形成渊源。第三部分，从喜剧的内核出发，分析金凯瑞经典喜剧的两个特点：亦喜亦悲和哲学思考。第四部分，对比以金凯瑞为代表的后现代主义喜剧与以周星驰为代表的无厘头电影，指出中美喜剧文化之间的联系。第五部分，为未来喜剧文化发展，提出一些建设性意见。

Abstract

Comedies always give a relaxing and comfortable feeling to audience, actually to which humor is not only limited but conveys different elements. As we know, these years have witnessed many American comedies filling the screens in China such as Broken Sisters, Friends and so on. As for the American humor, some people cannot stand wondering how it is displayed thoroughly and accepted gradually by people from all corners of the world. Here the paper will take the comedies of Kim Carrey for example to discuss and analyze what it is called American humor.

The paper consists of five parts. In the first part, it will clarify the research background and Jim Carrey’s contribution for Hollywood comedies. In the second part, it will analyze how Jim Carrey’s style formed from the aspect of comedy history. In the third part, it will talk about the kernel of comedy from the dual personality and philosophic thinking in the classic films. In the fourth part, it will put forward some comparison of Jim Carrey and Stephen Chow, postmodernism and mou lei tou. In the last part, it will conclude the thesis and bring up some suggestions in future research.

1 Introduction

1.1 The Significance of Comedy Culture

Filmography comes from life and ranks higher than it. Outstanding filmographies provide us with rich spiritual food through its features such as vividness and strong infection. And taking comedy as example, it can help people get out of the repression of the rational dogmas, it allows people to release their emotions in the movie world. Humorous language can enhance the artistic charm of the film and please the audience, let them know themselves and understand life in a relaxing and joyful atmosphere.

"Film Art Dictionary" defines the comedy as: "Stories aimed to create a laugh effect. It has a complete comedy idea by creating a comic character and background.it uses “Laugh” as a meaning to extolling good habits and ideals, or irony, lashing lag phenomenon. Its outcome often comes as the pure, kind and beauty sublime victory over fake, ugly and badness, or the forces of justice overcome the forces of evil. From point of the formal view, there are many kinds of American humor, such as cold humor, text humor, goodwill satire and so on. According to the content of performance, it can be divided into the following categories:

Action comedy film combines action and comic elements of the drama, in which the movie actor added humor in stimulating plot and breathtaking special effects. This type of film is particularly popular in North America in the eighties when comedians such as Eddie Murphy participated in a lot of action-oriented roles, such as the film 48 hours and Super Cop of Beverly Hills. This type of film usually talks about friendship and is often associated with disorder one.

Funny horror film is a horror movie that explains the traditional dark theme with a way of humor. These films are usually stupid horror fiction, the typical ones are the Opera Phantom of haunted house, New Frankenstein. This kind of horror movies are admired for their melodramatic style.

Fantasy comedy is a kind of films that uses magic, supernatural elements or the myth to create fun. Most fantasy comedies contain spoof or elements of irony and leave many ordinances behind our mind, for example, a hero becomes a timid fool, or a princess got stupid. Such films include The Princess Bride, Night at the Museum and Shrek.

Science fiction comedy film, like most hybrid genre of comedy, use elements of science fiction movies to the extreme and exaggerated science fiction stereotypical roles. The most famous Examples of such films are Back to the Future and Star Wars.

Military comedy films, is a comedy setting its scene in the military situation. Examples of military comedy are the Combat of Escape, Whimsical Great Escape, the stupid soldiers.

The family comedy, whose representative ones are those movies starred by Jim Carrey, mainly fool people through individual performances, they didn’t pay much attention to the story. Jim Carrey made comedy have story and become pure, all of the supporting props and background serve the protagonist of comedy.（李昊昱，陈博涵，2013）

With the box office of comedy movie continuing to decline, people cannot help asking whether domestic comedy has been stuck in a bottleneck. Given the audience's strong feelings about classic comedy of the past, some of the directors and writers began to seek a way from it. American comedy film has been the focus of the world and been loved by people all over the world since the birth of the film. The comedy shows the real life through exaggerated way of humor and satiric and brings people a lot of fun. Everyone love to watch comedy. Referring to American comedy, Jim Carrey can’t be ignored. We will take Jim Carrey’s comedy movies as examples to discuss those things concerning American Humor.

Jim Carrey was born in 1962 in Toronto, Canada and was the youngest child of four. His Father was a not so successful musician, after his business failure and bankruptcy, the whole family were struggling in poverty, made a living by taking part time job. In his teenager, Jim Carrey gave up studying so as to help maintain family life, reality made him see the world clearly.
