本文分为三个部分： 第一部分将对作者生平、时代背景、小说做简要概述。

同时简要介绍白人女性角色爱弥丹芙。

第二部分是对爱弥丹芙进行具体的角色分析，首先分析爱弥丹芙作为白人奴隶和白人女性的两个身份，然后分析爱弥丹芙如何和为何会帮助黑人女主角赛斯，最后分析爱弥丹芙作为白人角色在小说情节和创作上的重要性。
