Nowadays, with thedevelopment of the international relationship among countries, learningEnglish, especially the oral English is playing a more and more important rolein the world. As we know, language is a significant communication tool for allthe people. However, the most serious problem today in the oral Englishteaching in China’s middle schools is that the students are not willing tospeak. How to help middle school students to improve their oral English becomesa big challenge. This thesis will discuss the topic choosing in middle schooloral English teaching in our country, followed by exposing some basic facts inmiddle school oral English teaching as well as comparisons of teachingsituations between junior and senior high. Then some necessary countermeasuresof improving oral English will be put forward, which includes the methods ofencouragement and awarding. More importantly, it’s of vital importance forstudents to develop their own will to speak. Only in this way, students who arelearning oral English can learn it with much interest and passion so that theycan make great progress.
