Children's Literature is specially created for children andadolescents and has unique artistic features. The majority reader of Children’sliterature are kids, whose receptivity should be considered as their like inthe course of translation. Given the particularity of Children’s literature,this paper endeavors to apply reception aesthetics theory, which includes threemain ideas -- horizon of expectation, fusion of horizon and indeterminacy, toanalyze the translation of western Children’s literature. Through Charlieand the Chocolate Factory, this paper explores the preservation of languagebeauty and the transmission of culture in the translation of children'sliterature.
