'reflection' refers to the adaptation ofliterary works to suit different readers, with the purpose of influencing theway in which the target language readers read the work (lefevere andre, 1981). besides, many domestic scholars also have akeen interest in cultural adaptation theory. hu gengshen pointed out in the“translation theory from the terminology: anoverview of translation adaptation and selection theory” that “translating is a cyclical process in which the translator constantlyadapts and optimizes his choice”. adaptationof course also includes cultural adaptation. in a great extent, culturaladaptation plays a crucial role in cultural translation. to achieve cultural “fax” and meet the reader's ability to accept, it is necessary to makecultural adjustments to the original work. the study of cultural adaptation isextremely important for enriching and supplementing cultural translation andhas important practical significance.
