museum is an importantcarrier of advanced culture. it can promote china's economic development,political progress, and cultural prosperity of historical objects in anintuitive way and present to the public through the display of cultural relics.at the same time, cultural relics have witnessed major historical events, playinga role in cultural heritage. the primary purpose of translation of culturalrelics is to reflect the basic information of cultural relics.

functional teleology thegerman functional teleology was produced in the 1970s, it is the mainstream ofthe translation functional school, whose representative figures are mainlykatherina raiss (kantharinareiss), hans vermille (hans j.vermeer), jast hossmantrey (justa holz manttari) and christine enoch (christiane nord). as thefounder of functionalist translation theory, rice, in the book of thepossibility and limitation of translation criticism (1971), puts the textfunction as one of the criteria of translation criticism, and proposes afunctional critical model based on the relationship between the original textand the translation function, which combines the language function for thefirst time. according to the different functions of the text, rice proposedthree functional text types of "informational","expression" and "inductive". rice's functional text typeemphasizes that different types of text should adopt different translationstrategies to realize its text function. the museum text belongs to the"informational" text. the teleology of vermeer is one of the coretheories of functional teleology. skopos theory holds that translation hasdefinite purpose and intention, and translation is a purposeful action, and thepurpose of translation behavior determines the strategy of achieving thedesired goal.
