This paper mainly focuses on several aspects related to teaching writing according to the standard of the core competencies and values for Chinese students development: Firstly, it would offer introduction about the core competencies and values, including the background, the process of development, three main branches, two aspects under each,as well as four aspects of core competencies in English; Secondly, it would focus on the procedure during implementation and current situation of teaching writing in classroom and students writing ability through cases analysis; Thirdly, it would analyze some problems and deficiency present in its practice ; Fourthly, it would draw up to the conclusion and provide some suggestion on the breakthrough and innovation of the practice of teaching writing, according to the norms of the core competencies and values in English, as well as the prospect of its further development.

1. search various resources to identify the topic for the paper.

2. collect data and materials for the paper and write the paper on schedule.

3. the paper should give an elaborate and exhaustive research on the given topic with independent work.
